Reclaim your life.

Accepting therapy clients at my office in Weston and online throughout Connecticut.

Your life isn’t the way you want it to be.

  • Even when you don’t have something to worry about, your body doesn’t get the message - you are constantly restless and you just can’t relax.

Your mind never stops. You overthink everything and second-guess yourself constantly. Even when you try to distract yourself, you feel like you’re one step away from making a mistake or disappointing someone.

  • You’re constantly scanning the room, reading people’s faces, and picking up on the smallest changes in tone and body language - so you can adjust your behavior accordingly.

You can’t trust that people mean what they say. You come up with different interpretations for what they might really mean, and rehearse possible responses so you don’t end up saying the wrong thing or upsetting them.

  • Even when you’re with people you care about, you feel like there’s a wall between you.

You crave connection and spend a lot of time with other people, but deep down you feel desperately lonely.

You hold back parts of yourself even around those you know well, afraid that you might be too much or not enough.

Things can be different.

I’m an anxious person who:

  • is looking for relief

  • wants to quiet my mind and stop expecting the worst

  • wants to feel something other than restlessness and fear

I feel constantly overwhelmed and on edge, and:

  • I can’t shut off my inner critic

  • I want to stop analyzing to death every single interaction I have with someone

  • I want to be able to relax when I’m with other people

My relationships feel hard and unfulfilling and:

  • I want to feel comfortable being myself around other people.

  • I want to feel close and connected to those I care about

  • I want to feel seen, appreciated and supported in my relationships

MARIANA ZAPF, LCSW, SEP

Meet Mariana!

I believe you deserve a life and relationships you deeply enjoy.

I help adults who grew up in families where love felt conditional, emotions were dismissed, or conflict was the norm — and now they struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and feeling not enough, but can’t quite trace why.

Using mind-body techniques that gently access deeper levels of awareness beyond everyday thinking, therapy with me doesn’t just help you understand your behaviors. You'll develop practical tools that will help you settle your mind and heart when something touches a nerve or gets you triggered so you can break free from repeatedly finding yourself in the same painful situations and beating yourself up afterward.

You won’t have to arm wrestle youself into changing either. Instead, we’ll go to the source of the problem and help you release the stress keeping you stuck and heal the old wounds that continue to fester.

What I offer can help

Anxiety

You don’t have to be stuck running around in circles in your mind, second-guessing your every move while trying to figure out what is wrong - especially when you have no idea why things feel so off. With the right support, you can find calm to move forward with confidence.

Trauma

What happened to you doesn’t have to define you. With the help of a trained trauma therapist, you can free yourself from the shackles that keep you stuck in the emotional rollercoaster of finding yourself in the same situations, reliving the same struggles over and over again.

Strained Family Ties

You grew up feeling responsible for making sure that the people around you were happy. Now you resent it and want to change, but don’t know how. With help, you can learn to value and nurture yourself while also choosing how much, how often, and who you care for and spend your energy on.

Let’s make it easy as 1, 2, 3,…4.
